Muscat – In the first match of Day 2 of the D10 League held at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground on Sunday, Ghubrah Giants clinched a comfortable victory. They beat Khuwair Warriors by 8 wickets.
Put to bat first after losing the toss, the Warriors managed to put a first innings score of 80/5 on the board. Danish Mohammad was their top scorer with 32 runs. Kashif Ali and Moshin Qureshi were both excellent with the ball for the Giants and picked up 2 wickets apiece.
But unfortunately for the side from Al Khuwair, their total proved nowhere near enough, thanks to Kashif Ali’s swashbuckling knock. His 20-ball 44 effectively settled the contest and alongside double figure contributions from Pranav Mehta and Dean Foxcroft, took the Giants home with 17 balls to spare.

Ruwi Rangers vs Bousher Busters
In the second game of the day, D20 Champions Ruwi Rangers got off to a winning start. They beat Bousher Busters by 26 runs.
The Busters elected to field first after winning the toss but were met with in form Rangers’ top order. Sanuth Ebrahim looked brilliant for his 29-ball 44. On the other end, Khalid Kail made his way to the first half-century of the D10 league. He finished on 51 and the Rangers finished on 107/2 after 10 overs.
In response, the Busters lost wickets at regular intervals and fell well short in the end. Asif Khan and Mahmood Sufyan were the only batters to cross 20 runs. Sanuth Ebrahim continued his memorable day on the field with a hat-trick in the second innings. Jitenkumar Ramanandi was also superb with the ball for the Rangers and ended the day with figures of 2/19.

Qurum Thunders vs Darsait Titans
Qurum Thunders beat Darsait Titans by 7 runs in the day’s thrilling third tie. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the Thunders finished on a symmetric 88/8 after 10 overs. There were valuable contributions around the 18-run mark from multiple batsmen. Pranav Athawale top scored with a 15-ball 20. For the Titans, Mohammed Ayoob was phenomenal with the ball. He picked up 3 wickets in his 2 overs while giving away just 7 runs.
Chasing, the D20 finalists co-uld only muster 81/4 in the second innings. Although the Titans had wickets in hand throughout the run chase, the high asking rate proved decisive. Khurram Khan led the scoring with 26-ball 36. Ubaid Ullah was the other batter to reach double figures.

Amerat Royals vs Azaiba XI
Amerat Royals ended the day’s proceedings with a comprehensive 58-run victory over Azaiba XI. Batting first after winning the toss, the Royals posted a colossal first innings total of 139/3. Akshaykumar Patel led the charge with a destructive 26-ball 57. His opening partner Pratik Athavale also looked in fine form for his 30 runs, as did Rafi Ullah for his unbeaten 28.
In response, the Azaiba XI could only accumulate 81 runs in their 10 overs. Arsalan Bashir played a magnificent hand with an unbeaten 62 – D10’s highest individual score so far. But ultimately, the game was decided in the first innings. Hemalkumar Tandel and Vinay Khandelwal picked up 2 wickets each for the Royals.
