16 Jan 2022 By

Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) will launch campaigns to promote Omani products, Sami bin Salim al Sahib, director general of industry at the ministry, has informed.

“In line with its industrial strategy, the ministry aims to support national industries by creating an appropriate investment climate to establish new industries and develop existing ones by addressing existing challenges,” Sahib said.

“In the coming months, the ministry will focus on promoting nationals products domestically and internationally through promotional campaigns.”

In the domestic campaigns, promotional exhibitions and seminars will be held to introduce national products and showcase their quality and distinctiveness compared to other Gulf or international specifications.

In reference to the Made in Oman campaign, he said, “Products participating in the campaign were widely accepted by citizens and residents alike during the promotion period from November 2021 until the end of December 2021.”

The campaign was organised by MoCIIP in partnership with the Authority of Small & Medium Enterprises Development, Consumer Protection Authority, Madayn, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives from the business community. “It was designed to support local producers and manufacturers and encourage consumers across the sultanate to buy locally produced goods,” Sahib said.

“Omani products have the quality and standard specifications qualifying them to compete in local and international markets,” Sahib added.
