Muscat – Muscat Festival is set to return in 2022 after a gap of two years. The annual event was scraped in 2020 and 2021 following the outbreak of COVID-19. This forthcoming edition is being planned with new ideas and attractions that will be boosted by wide private sector participation.

“Muscat Festival 2022 will be based on new ideas that will showcase the event in a modern way. It is scheduled early next year. Many ideas have been developed with partners from government institutions to enrich and enliven the festival, and introduce new activities and programmes,” H E Issam al Zadjali, chairman of Muscat Municipality, said during his interaction with youth in Muttrah this week.

“Muscat Municipality has put forward many ideas to enhance the festival, such as continuing its activities and accompanying events held at different locations throughout the year instead of a 30-day period,” he said.

“The festival will be hosted in a comprehensive and innovative way and the private sector will have wider participation.”
