The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has detected as many as 180 cases of fake Omanisation. In a statement, it said, ‘The ministry has registered 180 cases of fake Omanisation which were perpetrated to avail facilities provided to private sector establishments. Through these violations, these institutions were able to obtain more than 660 permits to hire non-Omani workers.’
The MoL urged all private sector establishments, companies and citizens to cooperate in its efforts to curb this practice that affects the national economy.
The ministry has expedited the Omanisation process in recent months with a target to offer 32,267 jobs this year, including 7,602 opportunities in the government sector.
Twelve sectors are being targeted to appoint jobseekers and to achieve Oman Vision 2040. The work plan for 2021 aims to develop human capital through training projects following the replacement of residents in Omanised job categories.
