Undersecretaries of health ministries of the GCC states held their 12th virtual meeting on the developments of COVID-19 related issues on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by H E Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Undersecretary for Health Affairs in Ministry of Health, Dr Said bin Harib al Lamki, director general of Primary Healthcare and member of the Executive Board of GCC Health Council, and several senior ministry officials.
The meeting reviewed developments related to COVID-19 and highlighted the new genetic mutation of the virus, measures that have been adopted against it by the countries, as well as proposals submitted for the future.
The meeting discussed the experience of each state in distributing the vaccine, information on the spread of the virus and mutagenesis.
The undersecretaries appreciated the efforts of health workers in treating COVID-19 patients in the GCC states, and their role in controlling the spread of the virus. They also praised the cooperation of citizens, officials and volunteer workers for their part in these exceptional circumstances.
