Supreme Committee approves issue of tourist visas

30 Nov 2020

The Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with COVID-19 announced a decision on Monday allowing tourist visas to be issued for people to visit the sultanate.

In a statement, it said, ‘The Supreme Committee decided to allow the issuance of tourist visas to enter Oman, provided they arrive as part of tourist delegations organised by hotels and tourism companies.’

The Supreme Committee also decided to allow all employees of the state’s administrative apparatus and other public entities to work from office, starting Sunday, December 6, 2020. The decision cancelled the earlier rule of a certain percentage of employees being allowed to work from office, while others worked from home.

‘The Supreme Committee calls on all parties to continue to take the preventive measures necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.’

It also decided to reopen a new package of commercial activities with the necessity for these activities to adhere to the preventive measures. The concerned authorities will announce the details of these activities, it said.
