The Supreme Committee in charge of developments resulting from the spread of the COVID-19 held a meeting on Wednesday under the auspices of H E Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior and chairman of the committee, in which it decided to lift the night curfew from Saturday, October 24, at 5am.
The committee also confirmed that the school year will start for all students on November 1.
In a statement, the Supreme Committee said, ‘With regard to the decision to prevent movement at night, the committee clarifies that its implementation will end on Saturday at 5am, while confirming the decision to start the school year for all students from November 1.’
The statement added that the decision to adopt the blended education curriculum for all schools will be implemented from November 1.
‘The Supreme Committee examined reports related to the number of cases infected with the disease, the number of deaths resulting from it, and other epidemiological data in the various governorates of the sultanate and expressed its grave concern over non-compliance of preventive measures by some people,’ the statement said.
The Supreme Committee has decided to open the door for volunteering in various sectors related to the pandemic.
