Ban on camel import, export from April 16: MoAF

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has banned the transport of camels from and to Oman from April 16 until further notice. The decision has been taken in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. 

The ministry stated, ‘The entry and exit of camels to and from the Sultanate will be stopped starting on Thursday, April 16, 2020 until further notice. Camel breeders must abide by this rule for their safety and the safety of society.’

This decision is in accordance with the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with developments caused by the spread of COVID-19. ‘This recommendation comes based on the observations of specialists in the ministry with the aim to ensure health and safety of individuals as well camel breeders.’
