Jusoor celebrates completion of industrial reef project in Liwa

Jusoor Foundation celebrated the completion of the industrial reef landing project in the wilayat of Liwa. The project was implemented by Jusoor in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries represented by the Directorate General of Fisheries in North Batinah governorate. Sohar Aluminium, Vale, Oman Oil Group and Orpic funded the project at a cost of RO120,000.  

The event was held in the presence of H E Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed bin Mishari al Shamsi, Wali of Sohar, Acting Governor of North Batinah, Chairman of Jusoor, H E Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Salim al Ibri, Wali of Liwa, representatives of founding companies and chairman of Sunan al Bahar Committee.  

The project is part of Jusoor’s corporate social responsibility programme and aims to create sustainable projects that serve all THE segments of society.  

The project includes the design and manufacture of six metal units with a height of 8m  and a width of 6m and a weight of 12 tonnes distributed at specific points according to the marine survey approved by the concerned authorities.  

The project aims to enhance fish stocks and biodiversity in fishing areas, and enhance the sources of income for fishermen in Liwa.
