Kumzar – Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has officially handed over 17 social housing units to eligible citizens in the village of Kumzar in Musandam Governorate. The ceremony, held at the Khuwair residential site, was attended by HE Dr Khalfan bin Saeed al Shu’aili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and , Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam. In addition to the handover of the social housing units, the government allocated 30 residential land plots and formalised eight investment usufruct contracts for the industrial and commercial sectors, representing a total investment of RO 460,000.

This initiative is a core component of the Sultanate’s strategy to provide tailored housing solutions for communities with unique geographical characteristics, ensuring that families can remain in their home regions with improved quality of life. The comprehensive master plan spans 143,000 sq m and includes 148 residential plots alongside dedicated areas for a school, a mosque, and a health centre. Infrastructure works included the construction of over 6,000 m of internal, mountain, and coastal roads, complete with paving and lighting. These developments signify a major step in enhancing social stability and stimulating the local economy within the Musandam Governorate.
