Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree No 102/2025 on Sunday, ratifying a pivotal agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the World Bank Group. The decree officially endorses the establishment of a dedicated World Bank office within the Sultanate.
The agreement, signed in Washington DC on October 14, 2025, involves the key constituent bodies of the World Bank Group: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
Article 1 ratifies the aforementioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.
Article 2 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
The royal issuance underscores Oman’s commitment to strengthening international economic partnerships and is set to be published in the Official Gazette, coming into force from the date of its promulgation.
