Muscat – Majlis A’Shura will host H E Sultan bin Salem al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and H E Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy, on Monday to discuss the draft state budget for 2026 and the main priorities of the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Shura, said H E Habsi will present the foundations of the 2026 budget, covering public revenues, spending, debt management, oil price assumptions, deficit financing, inflation, and development and investment allocations. Indicators for 2025 and potential economic and financial risks for 2026 will also be reviewed.

The Economic and Financial Committee of the Shura has prepared a detailed report on the draft budget, including recommendations aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan. The session will include the committee’s approval of this report.

Regarding the development plan, H E Dr Saqri will outline the preparation methodology, key features, sectoral priorities, development projects, financial framework, and strategic programmes. The session will also cover draft laws referred by the government, including the unified system for international land transport among GCC states and amendments to the Personal Data Protection Law.
