Muscat – The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort, Muscat’s best address for refined luxury and exceptional dining, proudly celebrated World Children’s Day for the second year in a row. This year’s event welcomed local school children for a special “Young Chefs of Oman” culinary takeover. Designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork, the activation transformed the resort into a lively learning space where young talents discovered the art of gastronomy and hospitality.

This year’s edition placed a special focus on culinary exploration. A total of 25 children, aged 6 to 13 and representing 13 local schools, were invited to take part in a full day of immersive activities that showcased both Omani flavors and international favorites. Guided by expert Baristas, Chefs, and Waitstaff, the participants learned how to craft delicious dishes and experienced the service culture that defines The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort.

The experience drew on the resort’s diverse culinary portfolio, with signature venues opening their doors for the day. At Karibu, children explored flatbread making inspired by regional tastes. At The Lobby Lounge, they learned the basics of pastry preparation and dessert finishing. At Hakkasan Muscat, they were introduced to the artistry of dim sum. At Roberto’s, they discovered the fun of creating pasta. Zorba added a contemporary, lifestyle touch to the lineup, reinforcing the resort’s position as a leading culinary destination.

“World Children’s Day is a special opportunity to invest in the curiosity and potential of our young community,” said Fatma Kurt, Director of Marketing at The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort.  “Through this culinary and hospitality experience, we want children to feel proud of their culture, excited by new flavors, and confident in their own abilities. The Young Chefs of Oman workshop brings families, schools, and our team together in a meaningful way that reflects what St. Regis Family Traditions stand for, which is connection, care, and shared memories.”

This meaningful initiative reflects The St. Regis Family Traditions values of family bonding, community support, and cultural appreciation. By opening its kitchens and restaurants to young guests, The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort reinforced its commitment to nurturing future generations, strengthening community ties, and promoting cultural understanding through diverse culinary traditions.

The children described the day as both fun and inspiring. “I really liked making flatbread and pastries,” said Leen al Moussawi, age 13. “The chefs were smart and nice, and showed us each step. Now I can make pastries again at home.”

“It was so fun learning the art of dim sum making,” shared Sam al Mazrooe, age 12. “I didn’t know I would be so good at it!”
