The Directorate General for Consumer Protection in North Batinah Governorate has successfully intervened to secure a refund of RO 13,323 for a consumer who purchased a new vehicle with technical defects.

The consumer discovered a malfunction just five days after purchase, within the warranty period, but the car agency initially refused to perform the repair. Following a complaint lodged with the Directorate, officials swiftly engaged with the establishment, leading to an amicable settlement. Under this agreement, the full amount was refunded to the consumer, and the agency repossessed the faulty vehicle.

This action underscores the Consumer Protection Authority’s (CPA) commitment to upholding consumer rights and ensuring compliance from suppliers with relevant laws, aligning with the principles of integrity and partnership central to Oman Vision 2040.
