Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth will host the Muscat Art Exhibition 2025 on Wednesday under the theme ‘Elements that Build the Story’, in collaboration with the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).

The exhibition will bring together more than 200 artists from over 15 Arab and international countries. It will be inaugurated under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, in the presence of H E Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Culture in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

H E Busaidi said Muscat Art 2025 reflects the continuing growth of Oman’s art movement and embodies the ministry’s vision to support creativity and empower artists in line with Oman Vision 2040. He added that the cultural and artistic sector plays a key role in national development – not only in enriching the visual landscape but also in shaping social awareness, strengthening identity, and contributing to the economy.

He noted that this year’s theme highlights the connection between Omani cultural heritage and contemporary artistic expression, capturing the spirit of the times through diverse creative perspectives. By welcoming prominent artists from Oman and abroad, the exhibition aims to promote cultural dialogue and showcase Oman’s openness to global artistic exchange.

“Muscat Art 2025 goes beyond being an exhibition – it is a national platform that reflects art’s role in strengthening awareness, identity, and belonging,” he said. “Through its innovative themes, it seeks to establish Muscat as a leading centre for art and culture in the region.”

The undersecretary added that the ministry considers cultural and creative industries an essential pillar of social and economic transformation, in line with the National Cultural Strategy 2021–2040.

It continues to develop a framework to support artists, encourage innovation, and create an environment that nurtures creative talent.

Said bin Salim Al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC, said the event underlines the centre’s commitment to supporting local arts and enhancing Oman’s position on the global art scene.

The exhibition will also feature panel discussions, interactive sessions, and tributes to distinguished Omani artists.
