Muscat – H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, presided over the Annual Day celebrations of Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) on Tuesday, observed annually on November 3.
The ceremony, held at the Said bin Sultan Naval Base in Musannah, featured the graduation of two officer courses – one for university graduates and another for holders of executive general diplomas – in addition to a batch of marines.
The event began with the Royal Anthem, followed by H H Sayyid Theyazin reviewing the graduating class. The parade then marched past the main platform in both regular and slow formations, saluting the patron of the event.

The RNO Band staged a musical display and artistic tableaux, after which participants formed a symbolic model of the training ship Shabab Oman II. The ceremony also included a demonstration of mast-climbing skills accompanied by traditional naval chants.
Highlighting the ceremony’s conclusion, H H Sayyid Theyazin presented the Sword of Honour to Officer Cadet Said bin Hamed al Anboori, who secured the first place in the Executive Officers Course. He also honoured Officer Cadet Al Munthir bin Said Al Maamari, who secured the first place overall in the University Cadet Officers Course. The event reflected the professionalism and preparedness of RNO and the continued support and patronage extended by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
