Muscat – Royal Cavalry of Oman rider Ahmed bin Salem al Hamdani has qualified for the 2026 World Endurance Championship to be held in November in AlUla, Saudi Arabia.

Hamdani earned his place after successfully completing the Compiègne Endurance Ride in France, organised by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). Riding his horse Al Jaz, he completed the 160km race that featured 50 international competitors.

The demanding course was divided into six stages – the first covering 32km, followed by distances of 30km, 28km, 21km, 28km, and a final 21km.

With this result, Hamdani becomes the fifth rider from the Royal Cavalry to qualify for the 2026 championship. The other qualified riders are Mahmoud bin Marhoon al Foori, Hisham bin Salih al Farsi, Salih bin Salim al Balushi and Hussain bin Ali al Farsi.
