Muscat – The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center has reported the formation of a tropical depression in the southeast Arabian Sea, according to the latest satellite images and analyses.
The system is currently centered at longitude 66.5°E and latitude 10.7°N, with estimated wind speeds around its center ranging between 17 and 27 knots (31–50km/h).
Forecasts indicate that the depression is moving northwest. The Oman Meteorology Department confirmed that there is no direct impact expected on the sultanate, though high and medium clouds may flow over coastal areas along the Arabian Sea in the coming days.
