Muscat – Omani humanitarian and academic Dr Omama al Lawati received a warm welcome at Muscat International Airport on Thursday morning following her return from the Global Freedom Flotilla, a humanitarian initiative expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Dr Al Lawati was joined on the mission by Jamal Al Raisi, another Omani citizen, as part of an international effort to draw attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to advocate for unrestricted delivery of aid to the besieged territory.

Family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered at the airport to greet Dr Lawati and Raisi, celebrating their courage and humanitarian spirit.

The Foreign Ministry had earlier confirmed the participation of the two Omanis and maintained close coordination throughout the mission.

Upon her return, Dr Al Lawati expressed deep gratitude for the support extended by Omani authorities and the people of Oman, describing the experience as “both humbling and inspiring.”

Their participation in the Global Freedom Flotilla reflects Oman’s enduring commitment to peace, dialogue, and humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people.
