Contracts awarded for construction of 42 new schools worth RO89mn

Muscat – The Authority for Projects, Tenders and Local Content has awarded contracts for the construction of 42 new schools across the sultanate, with total investment exceeding RO89mn.

In a statement, the authority said the initiative aims to enhance educational infrastructure and strengthen the ongoing development of the education sector nationwide.

Musandam will have a new girls’ school, while North Batinah will see the construction of 12 schools – including four co-educational, six for girls and two for boys.

In Dakhliyah, three schools are planned – two for girls and one for boys – while North Sharqiyah will see three schools, two for girls and one co-educational. Al Wusta will get one co-educational school, and Dhofar will see the construction of four – two for boys and two co-educational.

Buraimi and Dhahirah will both get one new girls’ school. In South Batinah, eight schools are planned – five for girls, two for boys and one co-educational. In South Sharqiyah, four schools will be built – one for boys, two for girls and one co-educational.

The authority reaffirmed that these projects reflect the government’s commitment to providing quality education and ensuring access to modern, well-equipped learning facilities across all governorates.
