Muscat – Four athletes from Oman – Reem al Harthy, Mohamed al Sharji, Zahid Nadeem Khan and Shanavas – successfully completed Ironman Barcelona 2025 held on Sunday in Calella, Spain.

The event featured over 3,200 participants from 102 countries, taking on the legendary full Ironman distance – a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and 42.2km run.

Reem made history as the first Omani woman to complete a full Ironman, finishing in an impressive 11 hours and 40 minutes. Sharji clocked 13:22, Khan finished in 13:30, and Shanavas completed the course in 15:33.

Out of the total field, only 2,428 athletes managed to finish, underscoring the event’s extreme difficulty. The athletes from Oman proudly represented the sultanate in one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world.
