Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will embark on a state visit to Belarus on Monday.

A statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court to this effect read as follows:

‘In response to an invitation received by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik from President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, His Majesty the Sultan will go on a state visit to the country on October 6 and 7.

‘The visit comes within the context of promoting relations of cooperation between Oman and Belarus and pushing these towards wider horizons in a manner that meets aspirations of the two countries.

‘The visit will discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries in various spheres and means of boosting these to serve joint interests.

‘During the visit, the two leaders will exchange views on several current regional and international issues.’
