Kuwait – The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 165th session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab States in Kuwait, discussing developments in political, economic, security, and developmental cooperation among member states.

The Ministerial Council praised Oman’s role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, highlighting the importance of continuing such efforts alongside international initiatives to reduce tensions and prevent escalation in the region. The final statement emphasised the need to maintain maritime security and secure waterways, while confronting activities threatening regional and global stability.

Oman’s Foreign Minister, H E Sayid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, stated: “We continue together to enhance dialogue and cooperation, support efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region, and achieve justice for the Palestinian cause. Our thanks to Kuwait for the excellent organisation and hospitality during this session.”

On the sidelines of the session, Oman participated in the second joint ministerial meeting for strategic dialogue between GCC foreign ministers and the Foreign Minister of Japan. Discussions focused on enhancing economic, commercial, and investment cooperation, supporting sustainable development, and strengthening bilateral relations between Oman and Japan to benefit both nations.
