Muscat – The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI) has announced key guidelines for Omani students planning to pursue higher education outside the Sultanate of Oman.

According to the ministry, prior approval is mandatory before commencing studies abroad. Students must first secure an acceptance letter from the chosen institution and then apply for approval through the MoHERI electronic portal.

MoHERI stressed that students are only permitted to enroll in approved universities and specialisations, with lists of eligible institutions available for reference.

The ministry further highlighted the importance of completing the online application process via its electronic portal to ensure compliance. Additional details on the procedure can be accessed by scanning the QR code provided in the official announcement.

The step aims to guarantee that students pursue studies in institutions of high academic standards and in fields aligned with Oman’s development priorities.
