Muscat – At just 30, Omani entrepreneur Muataz bin Majid al Qasimi has turned his passion for technology into a thriving enterprise that is helping shape the sultanate’s digital future.

His startup, Tatbiqi, has grown from a simple idea into a trusted platform delivering innovative solutions to businesses, government entities, and leading companies in Oman and beyond.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Qasimi said, “I always had an interest in technology, but I never imagined it could lead to building a company. Tatbiqi started as a small idea, but my vision was always clear – to offer innovative solutions that meet the needs of Oman’s businesses.”

Since its inception, Tatbiqi has provided a wide range of services, including website and e-commerce design, integration of local payment gateways, order management systems, and customised smart applications.

According to Qasimi, the company works with organisations of all sizes. “We work with startups, small businesses, and even large corporations like Zain and Omantel. Both the government and private sectors use our services to accelerate their digital transformation journeys,” he noted.

The path to success, however, was not without hurdles. Convincing traditional institutions to adopt digital tools, addressing technical challenges in payment integration, and recruiting skilled personnel in the early stages were among the biggest obstacles.

“Patience, continuous learning, and building strong partnerships were key. I also focused on creating a young, creative, and flexible team,” he explained.

Looking ahead, Qasimi aims to expand Tatbiqi’s reach. “We want to become a leading platform in the region, making e-commerce and digital solutions part of everyday business and personal life. We also want to put Oman’s name high in innovation and entrepreneurship,” he said.

Offering advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, he stressed the importance of taking initiative. “Do not wait for perfect conditions to start your project. Begin with a small idea and develop it over time. The market needs your creativity, opportunities exist, and technology is a powerful tool. Let ambition, dedication, and innovation guide your journey.”
