North Sharqiyah – The Ibra Primary Court has convicted an individual in North Sharqiyah for violating the Consumer Protection Law. The accused, who defrauded a customer by issuing a fake invoice for home furniture services worth RO1,975, was sentenced to three months imprisonment and lifetime expulsion from Oman.

The court also imposed a fine and civil obligation to return the defrauded amount along with associated expenses. The case arose after the consumer discovered that the accused had no affiliation with the advertised company, prompting a complaint to the Consumer Protection Department and subsequent prosecution.
