Suhar – As part of its efforts to nurture young talent, Ministry of Labour (MoL), represented by the vocational colleges in Suhar, Khaboura and Shinas, has launched a series of specialised training programmes for school students in cooperation with North Batinah Governor’s Office.
Called Our Summer: Skills and Creativity, the programmes aim to equip students with practical skills that enhance their talents and prepare them for real-life situations. The programmes provide an interactive environment where participants can exchange ideas, experiences and questions.
A ministry official stated that the series reflects the ministry’s vision to support the younger generation by developing their capabilities through hands-on vocational training.
The programmes taking place at Shinas Vocational College are focused on the fundamentals of the English language, basics of electricity and physics, drawing, refrigeration and air conditioning, welding, and fabrication.
Khaboura Vocational College is conducting training in 3D model design, printing and assembly, marine safety, distress response and safe navigation.
Suhar Vocational College is offering sessions on home water maintenance, wood design and shaping, painting, and decoration.
The training programmes are part of MoL’s broader aim to prepare students for the future by bridging the gap between academic learning and the technical skills required in the labour market.
