Muscat – The Environment Authority has been monitoring reports of oil pollution that has appeared in the marine environment in certain areas of North Batinah and Musandam governorates. The source of the pollution has yet to be determined.
As a precautionary measure, the Authority has implemented protective actions to safeguard the entrance leading to the mangrove trees in the Wilayat of Shinas. Meanwhile, coordination is ongoing with the relevant authorities to remove the pollution and carry out cleaning operations along the affected beaches in both governorates.
The Authority remains committed to addressing environmental concerns and ensuring the protection of Oman’s coastal ecosystems.
