Muscat – In a move aimed at enhancing urban organization and protecting the privacy of residents, Muscat Municipality has urged for relocation of commercial activities to designated areas across the city. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to preserve Muscat’s public image while addressing concerns over unlicensed commercial operations within residential neighborhoods.
According to the municipality, the growing trend of using residential buildings for unlicensed commercial purposes has led to significant violations, resulting in adverse social and economic impacts. These include disruptions to community life and challenges to the city’s urban planning objectives.
The new regulations will ensure that commercial operations are carried out in appropriate zones, contributing to a balanced urban development while maintaining the quality of life for Muscat’s residents.
