29 Apr 2024 MoH launches mobile clinic in Mahda, Buraimi

Buraimi- Ministry of Health (MoH), in collaboration with Royal Army of Oman, has launched a mobile clinic in Al Fay village in the wilayat of Mahda, Buraimi.

Dr Majid bin Rashid al Muqbali, Director of Directorate General of Health Services in Buraimi, highlighted the significance of this initiative, particularly in response to recent extreme weather conditions in the region. The mobile clinic aims to ensure continuous access to healthcare services, aligning with MoH’s commitment to health service provision.

Muqbali emphasised the critical role of such services during crises, allowing rapid deployment of medical care in areas with limited access to health facilities.

Trained medical staff will deliver basic therapeutic and preventive services, including medication for chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and kidney failure requiring peritoneal dialysis.

The clinic is equipped with essential tools for risk assessment, such as body mass density measurement, blood pressure monitoring, and diagnosis of diabetes and high blood pressure. Additionally, it will offer educational material on chronic diseases and national health programmes.

Coordination with Royal Army of Oman will  ensure logistical su-pport, while collaboration with  Directorate General of Education, particularly Al Fai School for Basic Education, provides a suitable location for the mobile clinic.
