3 Jul 2023 By

Muscat – Weather in Muscat is expected to be cloudy for the next 24 hours with chances of isolated rains likely in the surrounding areas of the capital.

According to the Oman Meteorology Department, convective clouds development and isolated rains are expected over the Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas and parts of Al Wusta. Partly cloudy skies are expected along the coastal areas of Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains with intermittent drizzle.

Additionally, there are chances of dust rising over the desert and open areas, the Met Office added. ‘Chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches are predicted over parts of the coast of the Arabian Sea, Sea of Oman and the eastern and western coasts of Musandam governorate.’

Speaking about the weather, an official from the Met department said, “The change in the weather pattern is normal for this time of the year. The inclement weather is due to a low pressure in the Arabian Sea as well the onset of monsoons in India.”

He further mentioned that the rains and weather conditions will cause slight alterations in the sea waves.

The temperature will drop two to three degrees as a result of the weather disturbance. The expected maximum and minimum temperatures on Monday will be 37°C and 32°C respectively in Muscat, 33°C and 25°C in Saiq, 46 °C and 31°C in Ibri, 41°C and 32°C in Rustaq, 47°C and 33°C in Haima and 38°C and 28°C in Khasab.
