Campaign to highlight Buraimi’s tourism potential begins today

Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is set to launch a campaign on Sunday to promote the heritage and tourism components in the governorate.

The campaign ‘Change the atmosphere in Buraimi’, which will continue till January end, aims to introduce the heritage and tourist sites in the governorate and promote tourism in the area. ‘This will positively benefit the tourism sector partners, and enrich the promotional activities in Buraimi governorate,’ ONA reported.

A promotional video, highlighting the most prominent heritage and tourism sites in the governorate, the traditional art, tourism experiences and activities, will be launched on Sunday as part of the campaign.
Tourism companies, especially those specialised in adventure tourism, will conduct several trips to the governorate during the campaign period.

‘FAM (familiarisation) trips will be organised for tourism companies from the UAE so that they include tourism programmes in their itinerary to the Buraimi governorate. In addition, a number of social media influencers and photographers will be invited to popularise the promotional campaign.’

Accommodation offers, services and activities provided by hotel establishments in the governorate will also be published to make it easy for tourists to visit Buraimi.

Buraimi governorate, which has three wilayats – Buraimi, Mahdah and Sunaina – offers many attractive heritage and tourist attractions, providing various types of experiences and activities.

The governorate has many castles and forts such as Al Khandaq Fort, Al Hilla Fort, Marjab Fort, and Bait al Nad Fort.

Suitable for exploration and adventure tourism, Buraimi also offers places such as Falaj al Saarani, Madaba village, Wadi Sharm, Wadi al Qahfi, Wadi Khamis, and Jabal Kattar, while Sunaina desert, Kohl sands, and Ramlet Hamasa are popular for golden sand dunes.
