Muscat – Oman Arab Bank on Wednesday announced the appointment of Sulaiman Hamad al Harthi as the new chief executive officer of the bank.
Harthi has over 33 years of experience in the banking sector. He held several leadership positions at major local banks, including deputy chief executive officer of Oman Arab Bank and CEO of Alizz Islamic Bank.
‘The board of directors of Oman Arab Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Sulaiman Hamad al Harthi as the chief executive officer of the bank, effective from January 4, 2023,’ Oman Arab Bank said in a disclosure to the Muscat Stock Exchange.
Harthi holds an MBA (Finance) from Leicester University, UK. He has completed executive management programmes at Harvard Business School and INSEAD Business School, the bank said.
The board of directors of Oman Arab Bank wished Harthi all the success in his journey with the bank.
In a separate disclosure, Oman Arab Bank – the principal shareholder of Alizz Islamic Bank – announced that Harthi has tendered his resignation from the position of the CEO of Alizz Islamic Bank. The board resolved to accept his resignation.
Ali Saif al Mani, the general manager of Alizz Islamic Bank, will take over the management of the Alizz Islamic Bank.
Mani was appointed as the general manager of Alizz Islamic Bank in October. He has over 21 years of professional experience in both Islamic and traditional banking including retail, corporate, operations, finance, project management digital solutions and management.
