Emergency services now just a click away with Nidaa app

20 Jun 2022

Muscat – The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) launched an app called Nidaa on Monday in its ongoing efforts to provide emergency services for citizens and residents.

The app will provide services in a highly professional manner, communicating with the authority’s Operations Centre in emergencies.

A unique feature in the app will allow those with speaking or hearing disabilities to access ambulance services in times of emergency.

The app will have provision for reporting emergency situations, including accidents, injuries, building collapse, fires and drowning.

It will also have the provision of requesting site security approval for government and private facilities and registration of adventure trips to facilitate quick response in case of an emergency.

Featuring an interactive map, the app can help identify the nearest CDAA centre or health institution.
In February 2022, the authority launched an ambulance service to help patients in critical condition reach the nearest hospital.

Those who require emergency medical assistance can call the Royal Oman Police emergency hotline number (9999) or CDAA’s operations centre (2434-6666), following which a team of paramedics is dispatched to provide urgent medical assistance.

The ambulance service was initially available in six governorates – Musandam, Buraimi, Dhahirah, Al Wusta, South Sharqiyah and North Sharqiyah through existing medical centres.
