Muscat – Strengthening its support to the local communities, Eshraqa – the Social Development Arm of Khimji Ramdas (KR) – expanded its support during the blessed month of Ramadan by distributing essential foodstuff for the benefit of the needy.

As part of its Ramadan outreach project, various charity teams stepped up and participated in the voluntary distribution process shoulder-to-shoulder with the Eshraqa team members. They included representatives from charitable teams, associations, and from Wali’s offices, according to a press statement.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Nailesh Khimji, director, KR Group, said, “Ramadan is a period of spiritual discipline and self-reflection. The holy month presents us with an opportunity to serve our communities and demonstrate solidarity and togetherness. At Khimji Ramdas, we strongly believe in the importance of joining hands with like-minded stakeholders to contribute to community welfare and bring joy to all segments of the society.”

Commenting on this gesture, Mahmood Khalifa al Saqri, head of CSR at KR Group, said, “Ramadan is about sharing and caring for those in need. We sincerely thank all those who were involved in delivering the Ramadan foodstuff boxes. With their support, we were able to reach out to a large section of the society in a short period of time. We will continue to emphasise the importance of private sector organisations collaborating with charitable associations to serve the needs of various segments of society.”

Thanking the efforts of Eshraqa, Salim Mohammed al Ghamari, head of Zakat Committee in Muttrah, said, “We are pleased to be part of the Eshraqa Ramadan project. We commend their efforts and appreciate their commitment to positively impact all members of the society.”

Sana Abdul Rahman al Khanjari, chairman of the board of directors at Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and Childhood, said, “All credit to the Eshraqa team for promoting the importance of giving especially during ramadan. Our association applauds their efforts and encourage all entities to cooperate to uplift the quality of life for the people of Oman.”
