Muscat – Civil Aviation Authority, through the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center, has issued a weather alert for Monday. Forecasts indicate that heavy thunderstorms of varying intensity will continue over parts of the Al Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas. The active weather conditions began at 12 pm and are expected to last until 7 pm and into the night.

The weather system is bringing a risk of severe flash floods in valleys and streams, along with frequent lightning strikes, hail, and strong downdrafts of wind.

These conditions will also cause dust and sand to rise, leading to significantly reduced horizontal visibility. Authorities strongly advise everyone to exercise caution and stay away from overflowing wadis during these severe weather conditions.
