Gaza – United Nations has warned of a severe deterioration of conditions in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip due to ongoing killings, arrests, detentions, and strict restrictions on Palestinian gatherings.
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, stated that the ongoing genocide in Gaza has not ended despite three years passing since its onset. She stressed that the massive scale of destruction and worsening conditions in the West Bank require immediate action that goes far beyond diplomatic condemnations.
Describing the humanitarian situation in Gaza as catastrophic, she cautioned that continuous destruction raises serious questions regarding the global community’s response, particularly governments supporting the occupation. She also clarified that referring to Palestinians as genocide survivors is misleading because roughly seventy percent of Gaza remains under occupation while widespread destruction persists.
