Muscat- Consumer Protection Department judicial officers in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate have seized 832 packages of expired perfumes and incense from a commercial establishment for being offered for sale.

The seizure was made during inspection visits to shops and commercial establishments across the governorate’s wilayats as part of the Consumer Protection Authority’s efforts to ensure compliance with market safety requirements.

The products were found to be expired and in circulation in violation of the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulation.

The seized items were confiscated, while legal procedures were taken against the violating establishment in preparation for completing the necessary proceedings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Consumer Protection Authority said the inspection campaign forms part of its ongoing efforts to monitor markets, ensure that commercial establishments comply with regulations and prevent practices that could endanger consumers’ health and safety.

The authority also urged consumers to report violations and unlawful practices through its approved communication channels, stressing the importance of community cooperation in strengthening market oversight and protecting consumer rights.
