Ibra – The Consumer Protection Department in North Sharqiyah, in cooperation with the Directorate of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, has seized 1,759 non-compliant products as part of a joint inspection campaign titled ‘Awareness and Commitment’.

The campaign is part of ongoing efforts to monitor markets, ensure the safety of products offered for sale and verify compliance with approved requirements and standards.

The seized items included slime products, school supplies carrying non-compliant images and symbols, including skull illustrations, and other products that failed to meet approved requirements.

The seizures were made across several wilayats in the governorate, with 716 products seized in Ibra, 656 in Mudhaibi, 341 in Sinaw and 46 in Bidiyah, bringing the total to 1,759 products.

All seized products were confiscated, and legal action initiated against the violators as part of measures to protect consumers’ health and safety and enhance market safety across North Al Sharqiyah.

The Consumer Protection Department said inspection campaigns would continue in cooperation with the relevant authorities. It also urged suppliers to comply with applicable laws, requirements and standards and refrain from trading in non-compliant or unsafe products.
