Salalah – Dhofar’s Khareef 2026 attracted 881,424 visitors between June 21 and August 15, marking a 6.6% increase compared with 827,115 visitors recorded during the same period in 2025.

Preliminary estimates released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that Omani visitors accounted for 72.5% of the total, reaching 639,360 compared with 591,577 during the corresponding period last year.

Visitors from the GCC countries totalled 156,216, up from 143,431 in the same period of 2025.

Meanwhile, visitors of other nationalities stood at 85,848, compared with 92,107 during the corresponding period last year.

The statistics also showed a strong increase in arrivals by air. The number of visitors arriving through air travel rose by 13.6% to 212,562, compared with 187,153 during the same period in 2025.

Land arrivals accounted for the majority of visitors, reaching 668,862, compared with 639,962 during the same period last year.

In terms of the distribution of visitors during the season, 21,094 visitors were recorded between June 21 and 30, compared with 20,594 during the same period in 2025.

July recorded the highest monthly number of visitors, with 451,355, compared with 421,506 in July last year.

Visitor numbers remained strong in August, with 408,975 visitors recorded between August 1 and 15, compared with 385,015 during the same period in 2025.

Visitors during the first half of August alone accounted for 46.4% of the total number recorded since the beginning of the khareef season, highlighting the continued strong flow of visitors to Dhofar during the peak period.

The latest figures reflect continued growth in visitor numbers during the khareef season, with increased domestic and GCC tourism contributing to the overall rise, while air arrivals also recorded significant growth.
