Salalah – The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has launched Mustafeed, a digital platform designed to connect community needs with investors, partners and sustainable funding opportunities.

The platform, unveiled in Dhofar on Sunday during the Social Investment and Sustainable Development Forum 2026, is being developed in partnership with an Omani entrepreneur.

Mustafeed is intended to serve as a digital link between social challenges, investment opportunities and organisations capable of supporting them. It forms part of OCCI’s efforts to build a more structured national ecosystem for social investment.

The platform aims to direct resources towards initiatives with measurable impact while improving transparency and coordination among government entities, private companies, civil society organisations and social entrepreneurs.

H H Sayyida Dr Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Chairperson of the Board of OCCI’s Social Investment Centre, said social investment should move beyond short-term initiatives towards models capable of delivering lasting impact.

“Social, economic and environmental challenges can be transformed into opportunities capable of delivering sustainable solutions by moving from identifying needs to innovating solutions, and then developing them into projects that can grow and remain sustainable,” she said.

The two-day forum, held under the patronage of H H Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, is also seeking to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors and encourage impact-driven investment models.

Four cooperation agreements were signed on the opening day.

One agreement with the Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar and the Dhofar Recovery Centre will study the establishment of a specialised centre for the treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration of people affected by drug and psychotropic substance addiction.

Another agreement with the Development Bank aims to link social investment projects with development financing.

The centre also signed agreements with the Oman LNG Development Foundation and Oman India Fertiliser Company to support high-impact community initiatives and encourage a shift from traditional corporate social responsibility towards sustainable social investment.

The forum also features an exhibition showcasing practical models for converting social, economic and environmental challenges into investable opportunities.
