Muscat – National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has released its fourth edition report detailing the reality of security and safety in Oman based on 2025 data.

The report highlights that total registered crimes reached 21.0 thousand in 2025, marking an increase of 14.8% compared to the previous year. Financial crimes accounted for 62.3% of the total, while crimes against individuals formed 28.8%.

Muscat Governorate recorded 42% of the total crimes across Oman. The total number of offenders rose to 26,847, with 85% being male and 15% female.

Regarding road safety, total paved road lengths reached 45.7 thousand kilometres by the end of 2025, with 91% being single roads, and registered vehicles climbed by 5.6% to 1.9 million.

Traffic injury accidents decreased by 17% to 1.545 thousand accidents, while total traffic accident victims reached 595 deaths and 1,597 injuries.

Furthermore, civil defence and ambulance services handled 5.6 thousand fire incidents—a 12% increase—and 19 thousand ambulance service cases. Relief assistance cases totalled 682, with total disbursed amounts reaching 444 thousand.
