Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has formally clarified that filing any complaint or report is entirely free of charge. The authority emphasised that it will never request or charge any fee from individuals to submit a report or file a complaint.

Members of the public have been strongly advised that if they receive any phone call or text message asking for a payment in order to file a case, they should immediately report it to the competent authorities, as it is very likely an attempted case of cyber-fraud.
