Muscat – Omani students have been invited to apply for undergraduate scholarships offered by Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the 2026-27 academic year.

Applications must be submitted through the ‘Study in Egypt’ platform by September 15, 2026, according to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Education’s Directorate General of Scholarships.

Undergraduate applicants must register through the ‘Apply for Scholarship’ section under Higher Education Services, while postgraduate candidates should apply through the Postgraduate Studies section.

Candidates will be selected by the Egyptian authorities in accordance with their admission criteria. Applicants have been advised to monitor the platform regularly for updates on their submissions.

Applicants who secure admission must obtain final approval through the ministry’s electronic system before beginning their studies. The scholarships cannot be deferred.

Candidates applying for education-related specialisations must hold a General Education Diploma or equivalent with a minimum score of 80% and meet the requirements under Ministerial Decision No 155/2026.

Medical applicants must also have an overall score of at least 80%, including a minimum combined score of 80% in science subjects.

In the event of a student failing in any academic year, they will study that year at their own expense.

The announcement states that tuition fees will be covered for approved full-time undergraduate students. Eligible recipients may also receive travel, living and study allowances, support for research and project printing, excess baggage assistance and an annual air ticket, subject to regulations.
