Muscat – Combined Group Contracting, a Kuwait-based leading construction company operating across the Gulf region, has been awarded a RO20.6mn contract to construct a coastal road within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD).

In a disclosure, the company said it had signed the contract for the coastal road project in Duqm through a joint venture between Combined Group Contracting Company and Combined Group Trading and Contracting Global LLC Oman.

The contract, awarded by Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), is valued at RO20,659,557, the company said.

The project has a total duration of 760 days, including a 30-day mobilisation period and 730 days for completion of the works.

The scope of work includes the construction and development of the designated coastal road infrastructure, along with associated roadworks and civil works required to establish an efficient transportation corridor within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.

The project is expected to contribute to the continued development of Duqm’s infrastructure network and support the SEZAD’s growing role as a strategic hub for industrial, logistics and investment activities.
