Muscat – Oman will seek to strengthen its economic partnership with the Philippines at the third Oman–Philippines Strategic Majlis in Manila on July 26, which will bring together senior government officials, investors and business leaders to expand cooperation in trade, investment and strategic sectors.

The high-level forum will be led on the Omani side by H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and is expected to provide a platform to identify new business opportunities and deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Omani delegation will include H E Dr Mahad bin Said Al Baawain, Minister of Labour; Muneer Al Muneeri, Deputy President of Operations at Oman Investment Authority; H E Nasser bin Said Al Manawri, Oman’s Ambassador to the Philippines; and representatives from public and private sector entities.

This edition of Strategic Majlis will focus on priority sectors including investment, trade, tourism, technology, logistics and connectivity, and fisheries and agriculture, while encouraging dialogue between policymakers and entrepreneurs from both nations.

Organisers said the forum is designed to translate strong diplomatic relations into practical economic partnerships by creating opportunities for joint ventures, investment and business collaboration.

A new official logo for the Oman–Philippines Strategic Majlis was unveiled ahead of the event. Developed by Brand Oman in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry, the visual identity is part of the sultanate’s wider economic diplomacy strategy.

The logo incorporates an upward arrow symbolising growth, progress and future opportunities while blending elements of Omani identity. According to organisers, it reflects the Invest Oman vision, the longstanding relationship between Oman and the Philippines and the country’s ‘Live Oman’ message, highlighting the forum’s role in advancing long-term cooperation.

The forum aims to strengthen economic ties by increasing bilateral trade, attracting investment and promoting partnerships in high-growth sectors. It will also reinforce diplomatic engagement while encouraging collaboration in emerging industries such as technology, energy, logistics, fisheries and agriculture.

“Oman views Strategic Majlis as an exceptional opportunity to further strengthen our robust and growing relationship with the Philippines,” said H E Al Manawri.

H E Noralyn Jubaira Baja, Ambassador of the Philippines to Oman, described the gathering as a milestone in bilateral relations. “For decades, our bilateral bond was primarily defined by the thousands of overseas Filipino workers finding a safe home in Oman, but this institutionalised platform now channels decades of social goodwill into concrete investments,” she said.

The Strategic Majlis follows the commemorative activities marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia in Manila, which will also be attended by H E Sayyid Badr.
