Tehran – Iranian Foreign Ministry has firmly defended the country’s adherence to its international agreements, with spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stating that “no one can accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of violating its promises”.

Addressing reporters in Tehran, Baghaei insisted that Iran has acted in good faith during all negotiations, consistently prioritising the interests of the Iranian nation.

He asserted that while Iran has fulfilled its pledges under the memorandum of understanding with the United States, Washington has repeatedly failed to meet its own obligations under various pretexts.

Baghaei warned that Iran’s compliance is contingent upon the actions of the other party, declaring that if the United States fails to uphold its commitments, particularly regarding the end of the war, Iran will no longer consider itself bound by the memorandum.

Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasised that seeking justice for the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei remains a fundamental principle for the government. He stated that Tehran is committed to using all available legal and international tools to document crimes committed against its leadership and citizens, and to ensure that justice is ultimately served.
