Muscat – The Republic of Armenia has officially extended its temporary visa-free entry programme, offering significant new travel opportunities for residents of the Sultanate of Oman.

Effective from July 1, 2026, until July 1, 2027, nationals from 111 eligible countries who hold a valid residence permit issued by Oman—or other qualifying regions like the U.S., EU, or GCC states—may enter Armenia without a prior visa. This policy allows eligible visitors to stay in Armenia for up to 180 days within a one-year period.

To qualify for this exemption, travellers must possess a residence permit that remains valid for at least six months from their date of entry into Armenia. The residence permit must be presented to border authorities as either a physical card or a passport sticker.

Furthermore, the document must be in Latin script and display dates in the Gregorian calendar format. This initiative aims to strengthen ties between Armenia and the Gulf region, making it easier for those residing in Oman to explore Armenia’s rich cultural and historical landscapes without the burden of pre-travel visa applications.
