Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik exchanged greetings with the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries on the new Hijri year 1448 AH.
In cables, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere sentiments and best wishes to the leaders. His Majesty prayed to Allah the Almighty to return this blessed occasion on them and the people of their countries with goodness and blessings, and to grant the Islamic nation the glory and prosperity it aspires to achieve.
In their cables, the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries expressed their sincere sentiments and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan. They prayed to Allah the Almighty to grant His Majesty continuous good health and well-being, and to bestow upon the Omani people further progress and prosperity. They also prayed that the new Hijri year brings goodness, peace and stability to Muslims and the entire world.
Hijri New Year holiday on June 18
The Ministry of Labour has announced that Thursday, June 18, will be observed as an official holiday marking the Hijri New Year 1448 AH for offices in Oman.
In a statement released on Monday, the ministry said designation of the holiday is based on the official announcement issued on December 28, 2025, regarding public holidays for the 2026 calendar year.
