Manama, Bahrain – Oman participated in the 167th session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held in Manama, Bahrain. The Omani delegation was led by H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister. During the meeting, chaired by Bahrain, participants reviewed the progress of joint Gulf efforts and the implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing regional integration. The Council focused heavily on the urgent need for an immediate cessation of military actions and called for intensified political and diplomatic efforts to contain the current regional crisis through peaceful dialogue.

In a concurrent development, the Sultanate participated in the third joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and Canada. During this session, Sayyid Badr held a bilateral meeting with the Canadian Foreign Minister, Anita Anand. The discussions centred on strengthening economic and scientific partnerships and promoting investment opportunities between Oman and Canada. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to regional peace, underscoring the necessity of diplomacy to ensure maritime security and the stability of global supply chains. Furthermore, the Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister received the participating foreign ministers, highlighting the robust unity and solidarity among Gulf nations in addressing common security challenges.
